Building Artificial intelligence

Now here is a lesson to be learned by anyone who is an atheist or an agnostic. A lesson that is so simple, so in your face, how can you not see it? The lesson? Not so fast my dear little buddy, I want to talk robotics first. That is because it will steer us into the lesson to be learned. It is brilliant, really. Really brilliant.

Remember when you were young and science fiction was the big rage? Science fiction was everywhere... in books, movies, radio and television shows. It was the most entertaining and attention catching topic for a young boy. In fact, it probably was one of the most fascinating subjects that captured a young boy's mind, other than sports. They young minds dreamt of space travel, visiting other planets, aliens visiting earth, and talking robots. Robots quickly became top of the list for a young boys mind to dream about. The more they read about robots, the more their little minds tried to dream of ways to make them like humans. In their minds they gave them "humanoid" shapes, voices, minds of their owns, and even good and evil personalities. They went as far as to give them names and imagining what would look like, if they look like themselves when they built them. To create a robot would make them a master of their destiny. They can control the world and the universe if they so desired.

But first they have to give the robots intelligence. Everything else seemed like a piece of cake to assemble, but trying to put intelligence into a robot seemed cumbersome. If they want to make the robot to look human, they would have to cram every bit of knowledge into the head, and that seemed impossible without making the head look enormous. Every piece of knowledge has to be placed in the head so that the head could look symmetrical to the rest of the body. In the early days that seemed impossible. These days, though, it looks like the robot could be an exact duplicate to a human on sight. Once the robot is built, the intelligence installed, the next step is to give it life. Without the simulation of life, all you have is a pile of assembled parts. You need a power source, internal and external. The internal source would be a battery of some sort, one that could supply energy to the rest of the "body". The external power source would be the programmer, one who would assign certain tasks to certain parts of the " body". Once done, you have " created" another form of life.

Did you spot the lesson yet? The key word here would be " created". You have formed a life, gave it intelligence, and you gave it some sort of life source, but yet you still control what intelligence goes into that life form. Now, my little atheists and agnostics, here is your answer to whether God exists or not. This is exactly what happens on a higher level. God forms life, He gives it intelligence, and He controls the environment that you live in. The difference between the robot and you are twofold. First, God gave you a conscience so that you can decide what kind of life you are going to live, and He gave you a free will. The free will allows you to follow what God has "programmed" into your life or environment, or not. The difference between you being a " god" to your robots, God being your God, is the factor called omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. You can't be all that to your robots. There is one more important factor that runs almost the same: salvation.

When you have problems with your robots going off on a tangent, you can either destroy it, let it destroy itself, or sacrifice your time and energy to save it from self-destruction. God has done the same for us. He created us, tried to gives an option to save ourselves through the Ten Commandments, but finally sacrificed His time and energy by dying for us, to save us from destruction. God is God, He is not about to let us go and destroy ourselves. Sadly, many will self destruct, a few will be saved. God will be frustrated and sad that so many will decide to ignore their Creator. As in robots, we will have the same feelings when a few of them has a malfunction. Now can you see the truth?

The similarities are astounding, but yet a few still will not get it. Unlike robots, you have the choice. Unlike robots you could choose to have eternal life. Unlike robots, you will know what it feels like to have a creator love you so much he is willing to die for you. And unlike robots, your God lives again. Read Genesis, then read the gospel of John verses one through three. There should be no atheists, or agnostics, because of these verses. Miracles there are many, but you will not see them in artificial intelligence.
