New coding course offers foundational computer science knowledge

The Introduction to Coding course is an opportunity for students to learn foundational knowledge and skills in the field of computer science. Through hands-on projects and written assignments, students gain an understanding of the operation of computers, Internet fundamentals and programming. Lessons covered in the course include:
Introduction to Programming: Algorithms; programming design; using flowcharts and pseudocode
Write and Test Code: Functions, procedures, arguments and parameters; internal data representation; resources for programmers; testing and fixing code
Program with Lists and Loops: Conditional statements; use iteration; encode and decode text; debugging a problem
