Now, a dating app that caters to 'rich people' only Source: Luxy
Washington, Oct 01 (ANI): If you are looking to hook up with rich people on your smatrtphone then Luxy may be the app for you.
Launched this month for android and in May for Apple devices, the dating app is billing itself as "Tinder minus riff-raff," and will cater to only those who are rich. Luxy claimed that the average monthly income of its male users is 200,000 dollars, reported the CNN.
The Chief Executive Officer of Luxy who identified himself as "Tim T" in a media release said that with the rise of high-speed digital dating, it was time somebody weeded out low-income prospects by neighborhood. Spokesman Darren Shuster said that the decision to keep Tim's identity private is likely to have been taken due to the negative feedback that the app has received.
Shuster said that the app is still working on an income verification system but in the meantime, the community will be responsible for policing itself. He said that if a user shows up in a 20-year-old-VW Bug and request someone to meet at McDonald's, they won't last long on Luxy.
Users are also asked to list their five favorite luxury style brands in order to enable other users to pick a "Mercedes-Prada-Gucci-Louboutin-Dom Perignon enthusiast" who they would want to spend their lives with.
Luxy will allow users to scroll through profiles of others, tap the ones they like and swipe away the ones that don't meet their standards. If two users like each other then the app will introduce them and set up a chat.
The app claimed that its current users are CEOs, professional athletes, doctors, lawyers, investors, entrepreneurs, beauty queens, fitness models and Hollywood celebrities. (ANI)
