HP to offer 3D printing system 10-times faster than current Source: Aaron Mamiit
Hewlett-Packard revealed its vision for the future of 3D printing this week by unveiling its new Multi Jet Fusion technology. According to HP, the Multi Jet Fusion system is designed to deliver higher productivity and quality at a lower cost.
“As we examined the existing 3D print market, we saw a great deal of potential but also saw major gaps in the combination of speed, quality and cost,” explained Stephen Nigro, senior vice president, Inkjet and Graphic Solutions at HP, in a statement. “HP Multi Jet Fusion is designed to transform manufacturing across industries by delivering on the full potential of 3D printing with better quality, increased productivity, and break-through economics.”
According to HP, the Multi Jet Fusion system relies on HP Thermal Inkjet technology, which allows 3D printing machines to be 10-times faster than the fastest technology on the market today. The system accomplishes this by imaging entire surface areas versus one point at a time.
HP also notes that its Multi Jet Fusion system generates best-in-class quality that offers enhanced accuracy, resiliency and uniform part strength in all three axis directions. The technology achieves this by using HP Thermal Inkjet arrays that simultaneously apply multiple liquid agents.
