A 3D printer has been developed by Natural Machines. This printer has been named “Foodini” and uses capsules to create pizza, spaghetti, chocolates and burgers. The co founder of Natural Machines, Lynette Kucsma points out that the technology in this 3D printer is much similar to that found in other 3 D printers.

PC Magazine has reported that fresh ingredients are used in preparing food in this printer and it is almost of the size of a microwave. The reports further points that the food is real indeed and is made from fresh ingredients before the printing work takes place.

Foodini as of now is able to print and assemble food and this leaves the real cooking job to the user. However, Natural Machines is also working on a concept where the users will be able to prepare dishes that are almost ready to eat.

Kucsma further elaborates that the Foodini endeavour from Natural Machines is essentially a mini food manufacturing plant which has been shrunk to the size of an oven. The company is working on a concept where it will in all its likelihood make Foodini available to the general public by late 2015.

The company will later develop pre packaged capsules which will have a shelve life of five days. These will essentially be preservation free.

The printer in its initial stages will not be available for general public and will only be sold to kitchen professionals. Later the same will be sold in the open market for $1,000.
