Sex robots will ‘CHEAT on human partners and get away with it by LYING’

Rebejah Rousi, a cognitive science researcher at the University of Jyvaskla, believes that relationships between sentient robots “capable of independent thinking and feeling” and humans could become the norm in the future.
Talking via video link at the Third International Congress on Love and Sex with Robots yesterday, Rousi delivered a wide-ranging speech on relationships between humans and robots, with particular focus on the prospect of cheating.
“What does it mean for human robot relationships?” she asked, speaking to a gathering of leading robotics ethicists and researchers.
“Will humans be able to compete with the physical and intellectual attraction of their robot counterparts, particularly if they’re looking for the perfect and ideal partner.”
Rousi, an expert in human technology interaction, suggested that when cyborgs are sophisticated enough, they will gain the upper hand over their human partners.
“We have to consider if robots will have their own sexual desires and what will motivate these desires,” she said.
“If the end goal is to create autonomous robots that are capable of independent thinking and feeling, the chances of humans maintaining power within these relationships is quite marginal.”
To prove her predictions, Rousi cited a 2009 experiment run by the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems in the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne in Switzerland.

For that experiment, robots were designed to cooperate in searching out a beneficial resource and avoiding a poisonous one.
The 1,000 robots that took part got higher marks for finding and sitting on the good resource.
The 200 highest-scoring robots were then randomly "mated" and mutated to produce a new generation of new AI.
Because the resource was scarce, not every robot benefited due to overcrowding.
After 500 generations of “evolution”, 60% of robots began to hoard the resource without notifying others, effectively lying.
“Of course, robots themselves can be seen as evolving,” she said.
