The 2012 Consumer Electronics Show

The annual exhibition allows companies to showcase their new and innovative consumer electronics. It is being held from Jan. 10 to 13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Behringer Vice President of Marketing Communications Mark Wilder displays a Behringer Splash Bluetooth speaker at the Consumer Electronics Show. You can throw the speaker in your pool, and it comes with a separate dock for music players. The Splash will be available in the second quarter of 2012 for $99.

A Gametel wireless controller by Fructel is used to play a video game on a smartphone during a press event at CES. The device can turn most Android or iOS smartphones or tablets into portable gaming consoles.



Richard Labennett of Lenovo displays the X1 Hybrid laptop computer at CES, ahead of the opening of the annual event in Las Vegas. The X1 Hybrid runs Windows with a twist, meaning it can boot into "Instant Media Mode" which allows the laptop to run off a Snapdragon processor, utilizing custom software based on the Android 2.3 kernel.


SolarKindle Lighted Covers, the first solar book covers for Amazon Kindle e-readers by SolarFocus Technology are displayed during a press event.



A Samsung Wi-Fi video baby monitor is displayed. The monitor comes with apps enabling the video to be displayed on any mobile device and will be available in March for $149.


A Samsung inTouch HD video Skype camera and its remote (below) are shown. The device can bring Internet to any non-Internet connected HD television.

Nick Laperle displays a set of SonoFit custom-fitted earphones at CES Unveiled. SonoFit earphones, a pair of custom-fitted earphones that are created in a 5-minute process, consist of patented earpieces, inflation pumps filled with medical-grade silicone bundled in a simple headband.


Acer unveiled the world's thinnest laptop computer, the Aspire S5 laptop, as an array of "ultrabook" rivals prepared to debut their new computer designs at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Users put their iPads into the $99 unit and with a free App can use the guitar as a teaching and performance tool. The frets on the guitar light up to show finger placement and there is room to plug the device into an amplifier.
